Training
Training Manual a step-by-step guide

Skagit R/C Club promotes the training of beginning R/C pilots. If you want to learn to fly with the fewest problems and reduced expense, and are close enough to Carleton Molesworth Field to come by regularly, we encourage you to come by and work with our instructors.

The goal of pilot instruction is to get trainees to the point where they can fly safely and responsibly by themselves. The process includes both ground and in-flight training. Ground training involves some study, model airplane and radio control preparation and education in field etiquette. In-flight training is a step-by-step process in which student pilots receive practice under the close supervision of an expert pilot.

Note that training can't transform you into an expert pilot. It can help to prepare you for the precarious situations into which you can get your plane. Our hobby can be a dangerous one! When you complete your training, you will not only be ready to have fun but also to do so as safely as possible, with respect for yourself and your fellow pilots.
